How to use Affirmations effectively.
So what are affirmations and how do you use them effectively, in this post and video I share with you the power of affirmations and how you can use them to change your life for the better.
So what are affirmations and how you can use them to change your life for the better?
Words have the power to change our thinking. Both positively and negatively.
In a previous video I talked about the power of words and the impact they can have on our mindset and ultimately our life. And why sometimes we need to mind our own language. Thoughts – self talk, lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions.
We get more of what we think about and our mind goes in the directions of our most dominating thoughts.
So affirmations, are really the practice of using positive statements to state and direct our minds to create and achieve the life, the goals the outcomes that we want.
To do this effectively, you must consider a few important things.
* Firstly the statements should be positive and in the present tense.
Remember the mind can’t process a negative without first thinking about it. For example if I said think of any part of your body but don’t think of your left foot, your mind will think of your left foot before it thinks of anything else.
It’s like you are programming your mind for the things you dot want.
So it so important that you affirm your statements in a positive way.
And also in the present as if you’ve already achieved, if you say I’m going to or I will, your subconscious may process this as some time in the future, and always remain in the future.

* The other important factor with affirmations is to realise that you are using your conscious mind to help direct and re-programme your mind, and as I’ve mentioned in other videos the conscious mind is only the small tip of your overall mind-set, so to make any real significant change you require a lot of repetition to make a change, so you must make affirmation a regular daily practice, there’s no real benefit, in saying them once and that’s it.
Think of your minds fitness like physical fitness, you don’t do any exercise once, or for a few repetitions and expect to you reach and maintain your peak physical strength and condition, it require ongoing consistent training.
* And my final tip for effectively using affirmations is, you must energise and emotion charge your words. There is no point just reading a few words to yourself, without any real connection to them. Remember the saying it’s not what you say it’s the way that you say it, well this is certainly true for utilising affirmation.
Make sure you really connect and charge up your affirmation.
Be specific, be positive, be excited by them.
