Have you ever tried to achieve something, but failed?
In this post and video I’m going to share with you why you need to stop trying…
I was talking with a client the other day, and they were explaining how they have been trying to change for years, and asked what the point of keep trying if I never get anywhere…
So, I said stop trying then, and they looked at me gone out!
Until I explained why…
How often have you said or heard people say they’re going to try…
I’m trying to lose weight
I’m trying to give up smoking
I’m trying to get fit
I’m trying to clear me to do list
But this can be counterproductive because the subconscious mind can’t process try, if it’s something you can do, something that’s within your capabilities you either have to decide to do it or not do it!
Think of a time when someone has asked you to do something or go somewhere, for example if I said we’re going for a drink later are you going to join us, if you didn’t fancy it or you couldn’t make it, you get out of it by saying, I’ll try and be there.
It gives you a way out, it’s like a built-in excuse not to do something.
I think it was yoda in a Star Wars movie who said “do, or don’t do there’s no try”.
So, you have to make the decision and commitment to either do it or not.
When you make the decision, it take the pressure off and you can just get on with it.
So, your action step is to ask yourself if there is anything you have been trying to day and are there any decisions you are ready to make.
