3 Ways To Relieve Anxiety

Do you or someone you know struggle with anxiety?

Would you like to know how you can deal with anxiety?

 

In a previous blog post and video I shared with you my definition of wat anxiety actually is, click the video below to watch.

In todays post and video I’m now going to share with you 3 simple and effective ways to help manage and overcome anxiety.

Anxiety is something I help people manage and overcome all the time and I’m seeing more and more people affected by it.

So in this video I’m going to share with you, 3 ways you can manage anxiety – so you can help yourself release and let go of anxiety.

It’s always a good idea to seek professional advice from your doctor, but here are some tips to help yourself.

And even without anxiety being present these will all be beneficial for your wellbeing.

1 – Get Active – Move your body, do some exercise, exercise is known to have profound benefits for helping with anxiety. Not only does physical activity release the happy feel good chemicals in your body, but you are replicating what the body would do, if you were to fight or flight, so it allows you to release any built up anxiety or stress.

My personal favourite is to do some high intensity training, let off some steam hitting the punch bags, or going for a run. But for you it my just be a pleasant walk, just find what works best for you.

 

 

2 – Breathe – Learn to breathe more easily and effectively – doing something like Yoga, Pilates Tai Chi, or some other form of martial arts can help you learn to breathe more effectively & efficiently. Or there are many simple breathing exercises you can learn that will help.

This is so simple yet so effective but to often I see people overlook it for it simplicity. The key here is to practice, practice, practice. Don’t just wait until you feel anxious, practice even when you feel ok.

3 – Relax & Unwind – Give yourself a break – Take some time out for yourself and recharge your batteries. That may include reading, listening to music or some kind of relaxing audio, playing with a pet, doing something fun with your family, playing a game, colouring, a nice bath or shower, going for a walk.

 

Whatever works for you do it and do it proactively, don’t wait until you feel anxious, do this as a preventative and help yourself relax and unwind.

 

 

It’s impossible to be relaxed and anxious at the same time, so the more relaxing pastimes you can incorporate into your life the better.

But please don’t take my word for it, just start doing more of these 3 things throughout your daily life and see what a positive impact it can have for you.

Remember your mind fitness is like physical fitness, it’s something you will benefit from consistenlty and ongoing.
