How to Motivate Yourself
Increase Your Happiness
But today I want to share with you my top 3 tips for how you can motivate yourself and increase your happiness.
1. Number 1 – Be more present and get out of your head more.
I don’t mean drink too much and get out of your head, I mean keep you stress in check, stop worrying, and overthinking, allow yourself a break from thinking about the past or the future, the things that have happened that you can’t do anything about, and the things that haven’t even happened yet.
Take the time to enjoy a few moments in the here and now, give yourself permission to relax, recharge and re-energise. There’s many different ways you can do this. The key is not what you do, but to make sure you allow yourself time to do it consistently.
Think of your mind fitness like your physical fitness, doing a n exercise once is not going to maintain your fitness.
2. Which brings me on to number 2 – Get Active!
Get up, get outside and move your body. Yes, this could be formal exercise like going to going to the gym, or some kind of class, but it could be to just get up and go for a walk, visit your favourite spot in nature. Get up and play with a pet or kids. There are so many options available, search YouTube for some exercises you can do at home. Get a skipping rope and learn to skip.
Just do something, anything, just get moving! And again, the key is to something consistently.
But, also be active in terms of taking action to make a change, take actions that with help improve your current situations and move closer to the things and the life you want.
Stop dwelling on what you haven’t, or can’t do and get active focusing on the things you can.
3. Positively feed your mind and your body!
Improve the quality of what you feed your mind and your body. Make sure you are getting enough good fuel into your body.
Take the time to feed, strengthen and condition your mind.
Be mindful of the things that get you down, but spend time thinking and reflecting about where you want to be. We get more of what we think about, so doing this consistently helps to train and condition your mind to go into the direction that you want, to think and feel the way you want to.
Remember your thoughts lead to feeling and your feelings lead to your actions.
So, there you have 3 area and lots of different ways you can help yourself think differently, to motivate yourself and increase your happiness.
