Discover How To Relax In 7 Steps

Just relax!!

That’s the advice given to so many people struggling with stress, or anxiety, but so often people don’t know how to do it.

So, in this episode I’m going to share with you some simple steps for how you can relax  your mind and your body.

I see so many clients struggling with the demands of day to day life, most of us are busy and can easily get caught up in the busyness of day to day life.

And just yesterday I was working with two different clients, one said F#@k it, I just need to relax and the other said I just need to F’in relax.

And when people say just relax, it’s great advice but often we don’t know how to do it!

so in this episode I want to share with you some very simple steps that you can follow to help you relax and unwind, to  disconnect and take a break from the busyness of life and simple be more present, to help you live in the moment.

Rather than thinking and worrying about the past or the future, to simply help you spend more time in the here, the now, the present.

But there maybe times when you want to take yourself through the steps, or you have more or less time, in which case it’s good to know you can do it yourself, for whatever time you have available.

Top tips – Before you start set an alarm for chosen time, then you don’t need to worry about time.

And if you do get disturbed, or your attention is needed elsewhere, know you can easily and instantly open your eyes and deal with it.

Know that its ok for your mind to wonder and drift, if you miss a step its ok, or you relax so profoundly it feels like you’ve drifted off, that’s perfectly ok.  Either you have an alarm set, or if its sleep time,  you can just go off into a nice peaceful sleep.


7 Steps to relax your mind and your body.


  1. Get comfortable – loosen clothing, get a blanket, readjust your position.
  2. Breathing – focus on your breathing and take 2 or 3 nice slow comfortable breaths in and out.
  3. Relax – your body, including your eyes, close them when you are ready to.
  4. Relax – your mind – count backwards and let the numbers go when you are ready,
  5. Come to your senses – be aware and tune into your different senses, notice what you see, hear and feel
  6. Use your imagination/feelization – you enjoy a moments mind quite to think of anything or nothing. Imagine a peasant scene or focus your mind on a desire outcome.
  7. Bring to a close – eyes open, or go off to sleep.


And then just repeat as often as you like, the more you do it the easier it will get.
