Believe + Action = Achieve – How Small Steps Create Big Results
You’ve probably heard the saying: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
Standing at the Colosseum in Rome, it hit me just how true and how powerful that mindset lesson really is.
When we see incredible achievements – whether it’s a world-famous landmark, a thriving business, or someone living out their goals, we often forget the years of effort, the countless small steps, and the consistent actions that made it possible.
Too often, we chase quick wins. We get frustrated when results don’t appear overnight. But in reality, anything worth creating, in business, in health, in life, is built on strong foundations and steady progress.
The Roman Mindset: Brick by Brick
The Colosseum wasn’t built in a day. It was built through vision, planning, and thousands of small, consistent actions over time.
And that’s exactly how success works in our lives too.
- Have a clear plan: Know what you want to achieve.
- Lay the foundations: Put the habits, routines, and systems in place.
- Take small, daily steps: Progress doesn’t come from one giant leap. It comes from repetition.
This is the Believe + Action = Achieve formula in practice.
Believe in your vision. Take consistent action. Achieve your own version of the Colosseum.
Avoid the Short-Term Trap
One of the biggest traps we fall into is this:
We overestimate what we can achieve in the short term, and underestimate what we can achieve in the long term.
That’s why so many people start strong, lose momentum, and give up before they see results.
But just like the Colosseum, your greatest achievements are the ones that take time, effort, and consistency.
What’s Your Colosseum?
The Colosseum was the Romans’ masterpiece.
But what about you?
What’s the project, the goal, the life outcome that would feel like your version of the Colosseum?
- Is it scaling your business without burning out?
- Building a body and lifestyle that energises you?
- Creating more freedom and balance in your life?
Whatever it is, it’s possible. But only if you choose to build it, one step at a time.
Your Foundations: Beliefs, Habits, and Behaviours
Your own Colosseum isn’t made of stone. It’s built on your beliefs, habits, and behaviours.
These are the foundations that either:
- Stand the test of time and support your growth, or
- Crumble under pressure and hold you back.
This is why I created my S.H.I.T.E. Framework (Self, Habits, Identity, Thoughts, Energy).
When any of these pillars are out of sync, your foundations weaken. But when they’re aligned, you build a mindset that can support extraordinary results.
The CANI Attitude: Constant And Never-Ending Improvement
The Romans didn’t stop at one structure. They kept building, evolving, and improving.
That’s the same mindset we need: CANI – Constant And Never-Ending Improvement.
Don’t wait for perfection.
Don’t get stuck in comparison.
Just keep improving. Keep moving. Keep laying the next brick.
Celebrate the Wins Along the Way
One of the biggest mistakes high achievers make is rushing past progress without acknowledging it.
But when you pause to celebrate your wins – no matter how small, you:
- Train your mind to notice success.
- Anchor the habits you want to repeat.
- Boost your energy and motivation for the next step.
Just as the Colosseum was built brick by brick, your wins stack up into something much bigger. Celebrate each one – because they matter.
Your Next Steps – Moving in to the next quarter/90 day cycle.
As we head into the final stretch of the year, the lesson is clear:
- Decide what you want.
- Commit to the outcome.
- Take regular, consistent action.
- Celebrate progress along the way.
Ultimately, every step you take moves you either towards or away from the results you want. The choice is yours.
So ask yourself:
– What’s my Colosseum?
– What small step can I take today to start building it?
Because when you believe in yourself, take action, and stay consistent, you can achieve more than you think possible.
In summary…
Rome is a reminder that greatness isn’t built overnight. It’s built with vision, consistency, and belief.
So whatever your Colosseum looks like – business growth, financial freedom, health, or personal fulfilment – start today. Lay the first brick. And keep building.
Because brick by brick, step by step, you can create something incredible.
Go on. Make it happen!
To Your Success,
All the best
